Requirements for Homestay Program Hosts

Accommodation: The host should provide available, clean, and furnished accommodation.
Proximity: Living within 50 minutes or less of a public-transport accessible university, college, TAFE, or educational institution.
Interest: A willingness to engage in cultural exchange.
Guidance: Providing assistance to help a young visitor navigate Australian language, culture, and lifestyle.
English Proficiency: Proficiency in conversational English at a tertiary educational level.
Passing a Criminal Background Check

Host Family Profiles

Hosts come from diverse backgrounds, including couples, single parents, empty-nesters, and families with children.

Hosts can specify the type of student they are looking for.
Duration and dates of availability will be subjected to the current running program.

Who and How Long

Students age can be as low as under 16 years of age, so family must have patience and a real desire to become a host.
Students can stay for as little as four weeks or as long as a year or longer.

Host Family Requirements and Process

There is also pre-registration requirement put in place to ensure our students have an unforgettable experience.

Becoming a Host Family

Register with us using the online form and our consultant will get back to you as soon as possible.
Complete a host family application, which will ask for general information about your family members, your home, and your community.
Participate in a host family orientation session.

Homestay Requirements

It will be 2 students per room and their requirements are a private bedroom. bathroom, bedding, dresser, closet, desk, adequate lighting, and wireless internet.
The home must be equipped with adequate means for heating and cooling and be clean and close to public shopping and transportation.

Host Family Role

Treat the student like a family member, not a guest, with the same privileges and obligations as your own children.
Make yourself and your home available to your student, providing a clean, comfortable, and private bedroom.
